We had eight machines on the stand, most of which were running live demonstrations throughout the day. Leading the line-up was our Storm VMC and Tornado CNC Turning Centre ranges, both of which were running detailed machining demos throughout the exhibition. The Storm VL-550, the most compact model in the VL range proved a very popular machine throughout the week. Both the Tornado 2-axis SL25 and 3-axis MillTurn SL35MC machines were also running complex demos, giving a good demonstration of their rigidity and machining efficiency.
Also on display was the Student CNC, a modernised variant of the iconic Colchester Student, built on the same chassis now with Fanuc CNC control to give operators greater flexibility. A stalwart of our product range, the Alpha 1400XS garnered good attention, this model being a medium-sized lathe with a 400mm swing over bed and 1,200mm distance between centres.
Also on the stand was the CV-400 CNC turret mill, which provides extensive reliability, accuracy and versatility for small to medium size production runs. Fitted with the Fanuc 0i-MF plus control with Manual guide i, it gives the user flexibility in programming, allowing even the basic of machinists to be producing parts in a few hours.
It was great to see many of you comment on the Bridgeport Series 1 Knee Mill we had on the stand, as a reminder we are now the UK home of all things Bridgeport Machine Tool Company. For any enquiries about the Series 1 Knee Mill or 5-axis machines, then please do get in touch!
And of course, our all-new permanent laser marking system Lightning was officially revealed at the exhibition and it frankly went down a storm with many of you. For those who visited, we hope you were happy with your custom laser engraved pen and/or bottle opener!
