Our journey began in 2016 where a strategic review of the UK business was undertaken leading to a 3 year plan with a main aim to provide customer solutions with a technology lead machine tool focus.

The strategy focussed on 3 key areas;

1. Rebranding to Colchester Machine Tool Solutions. Maintaining the Colchester name and identity was of upmost importance, the trust and awareness which has been built over years in industry with  Colchester machines being the synonomous for quality, longevity and reliability. Building on the brand and highlighting and promoting the new products and value-added services and solutions we offer to both current and lapsed customers.

2. Developing the UK sales network and focusing on direct sales by increasing the UK team to allow stronger regional coverage and service. This was to give us ultimate control over our portfolio its identity ensuring customers receive the Colchester standard of service, support and pricing.
The UK market is now split regionally and covered by a dedicated regional sales manager with a view to add additional personnel to support increased demand over the next 2 years.  

3. New product development. Innovation is a primary focus of Colchester Machine Tool Solutions, with years of experience and knowledge in industry and a commitment to providing innovative solutions to customers a range of new products have been launched to market, including permanent laser marking systems from sister company TYKMA electrox meaning we can now offer the full end-to-end machining to marking solution for workshops.
The next generation Harrison Alpha the industry renowned CNC Combinatio lathe and brand new Manual Machine Plus the next generation in manual machining with autocycling. 

All of the above is supported by our in house CAD design and engineering team, which allow us to provide tailored and bespoke solutions to a wide variety of customers, applications and industries.
