We delivered 32 Colchester Student lathes to four colleges in Oman cities; Seeb, Saham, Sur & Ibri.
All lathes were equipped with the following:
- 1m distance between centres
- Fagor DRO’s
- Taper turning attachments
- IP64 ingress protection for the DRO scales (air is blown along the scales to prevent dust and swarf ingress)
- Full accessories
- Faceplates
- 4 jaws
- Tooling package drive dogs
- Live rotating centres
Upon delivery and installation, college students were already getting to grips with the machines. As shown in the third image, Sur college placed the new machines alongside existing Colchester machines which were up to 40 years old and still functioning in such a harsh environment!
