Colchester's automatic surface grinders are designed to meet the highest standards of precision and efficiency.
Colchester’s Automatic Surface Grinders with integrated PLC 7.2” colour touch screen controller, are constructed of high-grade cast iron with heavy walls and reinforced honeycomb ribbing providing excellent rigidity and dampening.
The enlarged column and base create high stability and rigidity.
Hydraulic longitudinal table movement and servo motor drive for cross feed movement, and rapid up/down motor for fast wheel positioning.
The saddle rests on precision hand-scraped double V-ways, and the table rests on precision hand-scraped V and Flat ways coated with TURCIT B along with auto lubrication gives excellent wear resistance.
Standard Control Features
- 7.2” Colour Touch Screen: Equipped with a conversational programming language for intuitive learning and operation.
- Precision Setting Capabilities: Easily set the vertical zero point, finish grinding volume, target point, and grinding wheel rise-up point.
- Dual Motor Vertical Feed: Powered by an AC motor for rapid movement and a stepping motor for precise micro downfeed positioning, slow auto downfeed, and controlled up/down movements.
- Real-Time Vertical Positioning Display: The screen shows current spindle positions and allows setting of start points, rough and finish grinding volumes, downfeed volumes for finish grinding, target points, rise-up points, and intermittent spark-out.
- DC Servo Motor Cross Transverse Travel: Enables step feed and continuous infeed grinding for enhanced precision and efficiency.
- Adjustable Wheel Dressing Speed: Easily control the speed of wheel dressing through the control panel for optimal grinding performance.
